How To Make Tangyuan For Chinese Lantern Festival

Chinese Lantern Festival is coming on 9 Feb,2009. It’s the first full moon day of the Chinese lunar year. It’s also considered as the end of the Chinese New year. According to Chinese traditon, We will eat Tangyuan (汤圆 in Chinese, Also called Yuanxiao in English) together with family members on Lantern Festival and Winter Solstice Festival.

Waiting For A Big Snow In BeiJing’s Coolest Days

It’s nine blow outside.
According to the old chinese tradition, We start counting nine “Nine days” after Winter Solstice. It’s right “the Third Nine days”, the Coolest days in a year.

How Did You Celebrate Winter Solstice Festival?

December 21 was the Winter Solstice day . It’s also called Midwinter, But we call it DongZhi in Chinese.
I had never celebrated this festival before I came to GuangDong, Where people believed it’s the most important day of a year. As the tradition, The whole family enjoy this day with some Winter Solstice Food.
