The Senanque Abbey Travel Guide
The Senanque Abbey is a Cistercian abbey which was founded in 1148. It located undernear the fabulous stone village of Gordes in the department of the Vaucluse in Provence.
Leaving Gordes, take the D177, You can see the beautiful views of the abbey below. In summer, the lavender fields give the abbey particular fame.
You’d better visite in summer, Because it’s harvested July-Aug. (the lavender is mostly cut by the 19th of July.)
Ticket:
- Entrance 6 €.
- Reduced rates (- 18 years) : 2,50 €.
- Free 3rd child - 18 years.
- Student : 5 €.
- Free : priests and religious.
Guided Visits:
Only guided visits are allowed to The Senanque Abbey. Joining an alread-started tour is not allowed and leaving a tour early is not allowed. And here is the visit start times (from the 2006 schedule).
