A Wooden Stool of My Great-grandfather

My uncle always preserves the old things of our family very well. I am so glad to see this wooden stool of my great-grandfather in my uncle’s home.
It’s made during Qing Dynasty.

Picking Water Chestnuts At Country Field

My dear sisters bought many Water Chestnuts for us at XiTang. That’s a kind of snack food at Southern Yangtze River.
My sisiters also told me that we can enjoy picking Water Chestnuts if we went to the country field at my father’s hometown.
What a wonderful idea!

How And Why We Make Double Ninth Cake?

I was so glad to know that my dear uncle and aunty would make Double Ninth cake for us. It’s the first time I ate Double Ninth cake.We can buy Double Ninth cake in fine design now, But few people know how to make it at home.
My uncle’s  Double Ninth cake seemed simply than those we saw in big party, But it was made by real traditional way. And It tasted so great!

XiTang, One of The Living Ancient Water Towns Of Southern Yangtze River

XiTang is only one hour away from my father’s hometown. It’s one of the most famous living ancient water towns of Southern Yangtze River. But I don’t like the crowd there.
I still miss these old days, water towns with clean river and pacific atmosphere.

I have visited my father’s hometown at Southern Yangtze River last two weeks.
There are many things and feelings I want share with you, My friends. Okay, Let’s start with the golden paddyfield. It’s the symble of golden season of a land of honey and milk.

Green Holiday At HaiNan

Haikou’s Meishi Mayflower is one of mine favorite golf courses in HaiNan. It’s designed by Colin Montgomerie, the world famous professional golf player.
It’s so good to have a green holiday.

Dengcun: The Only Village You Can See the Oldest Way Of Paper-Making

Starting from the Ming dynasty, the village of Dengcun (邓村 in Chinese) is famous for its Sihui Paper (会纸 in Chinese), a kind of bamboo paper manufactured With the traditional approach developed by Cai Lun (蔡伦), the inventor of paper-making in early A.D.105. It is the only village in this world you can still see this 2000-year-old paper-making process.

It’s Time To Say Goodbye To My Second Hometown

When you see this post, I already back to my second hometown, HanWang.
HanWang was a world famous town now, because it was totally destroyed by WenChuan earthquake on 12 May 2008. Thousands of my neighbors died there.
Tomorrow was the last chance I could enter my parents’ house, which was badly damaged. So I booked the plane back to SiChuan. I couldn’t miss the last chance to say goodbye to my second hometown.
