XiaoGuanYuan:Vanishing ChengDu Memory

iWalk 11 August 2009 19 Comments

XiaoGuanYuan(小观园) was an old small garden hotel located in Kuan XiangZi (Kuan Alley 宽巷子),ChengDu,Sichuan. I had lived there for some days some years ago. It’s one of my typical memories of old Chengdu. But, You can never see it again, Yeah, it was dismantled too!

That’s spring day when I lived in XiaoGuanYuan. Many kinds of flowers were blooming. I can never forget the warm feelings of lazy sunshine there.

Such a good garden was dismantled just because they want a NEW Kuan Alley to allure tourists! What a pity!

Hi, quite some time didn’t drop by here! Just returned from my trip in Guilin. Wondering if you can access my blog cos in China I could not access any blog using blogspot!

Oh, they dismantled the place? That’s a pity! I thought tourists prefer to see ancient buildings and soak in the history of the place?

    Yeah, Long time no see,foongpc.
Blogspot.com is still blocked to us! It’s so sad to lost the news from my online friends!

How about your Guilin trip? Jam from “Life is like that” went to Guilin too, I think you know each other too. :)

You know there are many low-level local officers here. They have already destroyed many good things.:(

Why did they block blogspot? I really don’t like all these banning and blocking. It’s against freedom of expression!

Oh, of course I know Jam! We went to Guilin together! It was fun and he’s the perfect tour guide. Well, he did all the research and I just followed his itinerary : )

It is a pity! I think in another 10 plus years, there will hardly be any old building left in China.
