A Visit To China North Korea Tumen River Border
North Korea sounds mysterious to you?
That’s one of reasons I visited Tumen(图们). Tumen River Border was famous because it’s said it was the place used by North Korean refugees get across the Chinese border.
Tumen River Border looks peaceful from this side.
The monument was inscripted By Jiang ZeMin, ex-Chairman of China.
A bridge beside the Tumen River Border is named as the bridge of Friendship.
Another cenotaph about the friendship of China & North korea.
That’s North korea part, we couldn’t see a single person there.
Before I visited Tumen, I only knew that Tuman BBQ tasted great. Because there are many Tuman BBQ restaurants in Beijing.
Tumen is a county-level city in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture(延边朝鲜族自治州）, within Jilin province，China. Approximately 57% of inhabitants are Korean.
Tumen is separated China from North Korea by the Tumen River. Tuman River is a 521 km-long river that accross the boundary between China, North Korea, and Russia. The name of the river comes from the Mongolian word which means “ten thousand” or a myriad.
This river is badly polluted by the nearby factories. But it still a major tourist attraction. You can see some monument about the friendship between China & North korea, The bridge which stands on Tumen River Border is directly named friendship bridge.
It’s said many North Koreans escaping their country pass through Tumen River Border. But I saw nothing special there.

The scenery is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I am sad to hear that the river is badly polluted because of the factories, it would be nice to hold them accountable and responsible for their mess.
