That day when I was wandering around the street of , I encountered an old man who drove an old style wooden bicycle. Yeah, That’s which was regarded as the ancestor of the bicycle.

This old man was so glad that I was interesting in his bicycle.

He told me he made this bicycle according as the sample of wooden around year 1820. He rided this wooden bicycle from east Europe to Germany, and he would go on his traveling. Oh, yeah, He was be proud of his vehicle, and I thought he did worth that!

As we know from wikipedia, Patented in January 1818, is the first means of transport to make use of the two-wheeler principle, It is regarded as the ancestor of the bicycle. But after its brief moment in the limelight, the quickly faded into oblivion.

I thought It’s not a comfortable thing to ride such a wooden bicycle. But the old man enjoyed it. Maybe that the way he yearned the old days and old life style.

Certainly an interesting looking bicycle. It looks fragile to me, like it’s gonna break. At least this man doesn’t have to worry about tyre puncture!

I had the same feeling as you when I saw it. But this bicycle already ran long way from east Europe to the west, I think it’s firm enough!

I don’t see any pedals, so this must be good for downhills and declines, but will have to be pushed uphill, right? The steering design is quite intriguing too. We have come far in 200 odd years, haven’t we?

Yeah, No pedals no chains, I think the power comes from handgrip, But I really don’t know how it works! How clever people in that time!
