Some Traditional Chinese Gadgets At JinLi Street ChengDu
Today, Chinese traditional things are so popular that many cities have old-style streets. You can find some traditional Chinese gadgets and traditional food there. Jinli is one of old-style streets in Chengdu, SiChuan.
But I always think all these old-style streets are too similar, They should have more local color to attract the tourists.

I do like these old markets in Asian towns. I wonder if they should change? Are they for the tourists or for the local town?

I think there are few real old markets here now, Mark.
It is one of old-style streets for tourists. Though my local friends also love to have a cup of coffee there.
As I said in quote, these old style street in many chinese cities are ” too similar, They should have more local color to attract the tourists”.
I love those old Farmer Markets in Avignon area. These markets keep the tradition quite well.:)

How is the atmostphere in Chengdu city itself? I assume the earthquake in May last year did not affect the city much? Only the outlying area in Mianyang and Wengchuan were affected.

iWalk reply on January 30th, 2009 1:20 pm:
You are right John, The earthquake not affect Chengdu much. But the new spring atmosphere is not enthusiastic as before.
I went to DeYang some days before. Many people from MianZhu disaster area are busy rebuliding their home and factory there.
Many people still live in tent at country yard of MianYang,MianZhu,WenChuan and QingChuan,It’s a hard winter for them.

Great gadgets, I would like to have them all as a decoration. They look so fantastic, I saw a puppet in a Chinese store here in town that looked similar to the one on the 5th photo. Very nice and beautiful.
I wish you a great weekend my friend!
