This song was recorded by USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). It was a charity composed by forty-five predominantly U.S. artists, led by Harry Belafonte, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Lionel Richie.

USA for Africa Foundation raised considerable profits from the enterprises , which used for the relief of famine and disease in Africa and specifically to 1984–1985 famine in Ethiopia.

I hope superstars in China can also do something really good for the people of earthquake disaster area.
