We Are The World

Yesterday was ’s birthday.
The report said he celebrated his 50th birthday by watching children’s cartoons(Peter Pan?) . But I’d like to listening his again and again whole day.

I must acknowledge that I don’t know much about himself and his music. But I still remember how I was deeply affected when I heard the song at the first time.

The report said co-wrote “” with Lionel Richie, released worldwide to aid people in Africa. The single became one of the best-selling singles of all time. But finished it in just half an hour!

More people began to care the situation of kids in Africa from then on, including me. Thank you forever, !

There comes a time
When we head a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can’t go on
Pretneding day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God’s great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they’ll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

When you’re down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There’s no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one

We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Happy Birthday, .
A warmhearted people will always be happy!

That song inspirational every time I listen to it — especially the fact that popular musicians volunteered to be in it.

This song was recorded by USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). It was a charity composed by forty-five predominantly U.S. artists, led by Harry Belafonte, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Lionel Richie.

USA for Africa Foundation raised considerable profits from the enterprises , which used for the relief of famine and disease in Africa and specifically to 1984–1985 famine in Ethiopia.

I hope superstars in China can also do something really good for the people of earthquake disaster area.

    Agree with you.
The superstars do the things they can do to influence people or help people around them. We can do so.

That really is a great song. I had a cassette single of it when it first came out. I haven’t heard it in a long time.
