Founded in 1087 A.D. (Northern Song Dynasty), Xi’an Forest of Steles (BeiLin in Chinese) houses over 2300 steles of the Han, Wei, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
It was said that Xi’an Forest of Steles has the best steles of ancient dynasties, It’s a treasure house of the Chinese calligraphic art. It is also one of the centers of ancient Chinese stone-engraving classic.
