Study Paper Rubbings Facture At Xi'an Forest Of Steles Museum

I visited Xi’an two weeks ago. It’s the city where my mother finished her university education.
Xi’an has too many highlights I should visit. Okay, Let’s begin from Xi’an Forest Of Steles Museum.

Founded in 1087 A.D. (Northern Song Dynasty), Xi’an Forest of Steles （BeiLin in Chinese) houses over 2300 steles of the Han, Wei, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

It was said that Xi’an Forest of Steles has the best steles of ancient dynasties, It’s a treasure house of the Chinese calligraphic art. It is also one of the centers of ancient Chinese stone-engraving classic.

The photographs are beautiful and I like the corners effect very much. I doubt rubbings would do much damage; as far as I know this has been done with brasses in European churches for centuries with no deterioration.
