How Can I Get The Best Seat On The Plane?
We are so tire of those uncomfortable hours in the plane, lack of leg room, the war over the armrest or big noise of children… Yeah, I am not a first class passenger, But I want a comfortable journey on the plane.
How can I get a best tourist class seat? Here is the tips !
What does a best seat meaning to you?
I don’t think the best seat must be a safety one, Because there is no absolute safety seat in a plane crash. when one survey told you seated in the rear of an aircraft may have more chance of survival during a plane crash. Then another survey said It’s the safest to sit near the front of the plane within five rows of an emergency exit.
The middle seat is discommodious. Rows near flight attendant areas and restrooms may be noisier and more traffic, and seats very close to cabin movie screens maybe too bright if you are trying to sleep. There are all the seats we generally undesirable.
If you want a convenient seat for your short business trip, an aisle seat near the front of the plane is the best choice. If you must fly overnight, a window seat can offer a good place to rest your head. If you want more legroom, you can ask for a row seats or bulkhead seats(seats directly behind the physical barriers, such as walls, curtains or screens), But:
1) Ordered by federal law, a child under 15 may not sit in an exit row, and infants may not permitted in the rows immediately behind or in front of an exit row either.
2) There are no seats in front of bulkhead seats, But be careful: Not all “bulkhead” rows are created equal. On some planes, the first bulkhead row may be cramped and uncomfortable.
Okay, here is my tips for how to Get a Better Seat
1. know what you want. If you know exactly what seat is the the best for your trip, it can be easier to get it. Instead of asking for “a good seat,” try asking for “12c” .
2. Join a frequent flier program. Providing your frequent flier number at check-in desk, if you are a loyal, high-ranking member, You will get what you want.
3. Consider purchasing a better seat. Several airlines now offer economy-class seats with extra legroom for an additional fee about $10 - $20, Or with an annual fee, You can getmore inches of seat if you pay for that.
4. Select your seat when you book. Most airline Web sites and major booking engines allow you to choose a seat when you purchase your ticket, In most cases this process is free.
5. check in online 24 hours before. Most airlines allow passengers to check in online 24 hours before their flight departs. At that point you can confirm the seat you’ve already chosen or even choose a better one.
6. Ask for upgrade. Once you reach your check-in desk, ask whether you can upgrade to business class or a better seat, you may lucky enough to get a good chance.
BTW: I always ask an aisle seat in the exit row near the front of the plane when I check in, And you?

I have been quite fortunate to have been able to swap my seat for an entire 4 seater in a row or at least a 3 seater in a row all for myself and I just sleep all the way thru the entire journey! I dislike flying actually…..I hope they invent some travel machine where you just zap yourself to a destination in minutes…hhahha dream on huh?

Entire seats in a row all for yourself! How lucky you are!
I don’t like flying too, so I always carry my iPod or books to kill time.:)

I have a few best flying experiences. Once when flying to Europe on an overnite the plane was only 1/2 full, so we all got to lay down if we wanted.
One time I had some trouble getting my reservations correct, and they upgraded me to first class to compensate for all the problems.
A friend of mine’s brother has gotten bumped so many times he won’t have to buy a ticket for a long time! He has his own business, so has the time to live with the inconvenience.

Wow. This post is informative. I like the part on how to get a better seat.
The last time I flew in a plane was when I was 14. However, recently, I sent 2 friends off at my local airport.

singapore airlines, im sure along with other airlines, allows you to check in online and choose your own seats. I think this is a great feature.
I always choose seats closest to the front so I can get out faster after we landed =).
Another option is to choose seats at the back, if its an empty flight most people will be seated at the front and you will have more space at the back where you may get an empty row of seats you can lay down on.
