I love small town as , I can walk everywhere easily, And know every detail by foot.
Schlenkerla is the best-known tavern in , It’s just in the centre of the old town, and only ten-minutes walk from my hotel. So I would pass it several times a day.

At the the first night I arrived , I joined a middle-ages style parade that circumambulated the centre of followed a man who playacted as a knight. I notice many people went into a beautiful 16th-century building after parade.

That’s Schlenkerla, which claims to be the original brewerie that make (rauchbier) in , and their version is the most famous.

Founded 1678. It’s belongs to German Trum family. It was said that former owner had a funny way of walking due to an accident, so he got the nickname “Schlenkerla”, which is an old German expression for not walking straight (staggering just like drunks do).

It’s the sixth generation now, the name Schlenkerla is well known in Franconia and around the world.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier() is the most famous beer Schlenkerla offers. It’s brewed in the same way as other bottom-fermented beers ; But the difference is Schlenkerla produce its own malts in order to get the beer the intense, smoky taste.

Schlenkerla is always crowded. Yeah, people love the excellent beer and local Franconian dishes it offers, me too.
