Bamberg Old Town Hall, The Only Town Hall In Germany Built on The Middile Of The River
The Old Town Hall was a special place of Bamberg, But a lovely place in my eyes.
I love those rowboats play under it in daytime, And those beer gardens around it in night.

It’s seldom to see such a construction built in the middile of the river. Yeah, It’s the only one in Germany.
The old town hall was built in the 14th century. At that time the Regnitz river was the boundary between the merchant and episcopal parts of town. It was said the episcopates , who owned the center of the town, didn’t agree to build the town hall in their domain. But people of Bamberg didn’t give in.So the boundary river appeared to be the ideal compromise.
The town hall’s core building which finished in 1463 was in Gothic style. But facade was painted in baroque style, This made it looked more colorful in night.
I love those rowboats play under it in daytime, And those beer gardens around it in night. Yeah, You’d better see both side of it.:)
