There were many great things in Bamberg, the city of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
But this door handle was a surprise.
I had never read any information about it on any travel guides of Bamberg before.

But it’s really famous.

It first appeared at E. T. A. Hoffmann’s play book in early 19 century, Then became an important part of Bamberg elements. E. T. A. Hoffmann lived in Bamberg for five years , And wrote something real in Bamberg in his play.

I was lucky heared this story during the time I was in Bamberg, and finally found it at Dr. Gustav und Erika’s door.
