Auerbachs Keller,Where Goethe’s Faust Story Happened
Madoge Passage is my first target in Leipzig, Not for shopping, Just because of Auerbachs Keller.

Auerbachs Keller (Auerbach’s Cellar in English)was located at the basement of Madoge Passage. It’s established in the 16th century, And it’s the best known restaurant in Leipzig for having inspired parts of Goethe’s epic play, Faust.
But Auerbachs Keller was not famous because of Goethe, Long before Goethe’s time it already said: Who travelled to Leipzig to fair,Without visiting Auerbachs Hof, Remains silent, for that proves:He has not seen Leipzig.
At Auerbachs Keller, Goethe heared that famous story, then rewrote it as a part of the Faust.
After a wonderful dinner, I have a inside tour there. They tried to keep everything as hundreds years before. I can know many stroy from the old time sculptures, the tableware and even the old time account book.
That’s great.
