Guangzhou’s flower market held annually during the Spring Festival is very famous. The origin of flower market can be traced back to 500 years ago. There is an old saying, “No flower fairs, no Spring Festival.”

During Chinese traditional Spring Festival, Guangzhou residents will go to flower market and “walk on flowers”. It is said that will bring good luck, but you must make at least one flower purchase to seal the deal:)

There are ten big flower markets in total this year:

● Yuexiu Xihu Flower Market on Jiaoyu Road and Xihu Road;
● Yuexiu Donghu Flower Market on Dashatou 3rd Road;
● Liwan Flower Market on Liwanbei Road;
● Haizhu Flower Market on Binjiangxi Road and Baogang Road;
● Tianhe Flower Market inside of Tianhe Sports Center;
● Huangpu Flower Market inside of Huangpu Sports Stadium;
● Baiyun Flower Market on Yuanjing Road of Tangjing Street;
● Luogang Flower Market on Qingnian Road;
● Panyu Flower Market on Shengtai Road;
● Huadu Flower Market on Yongfa Road (inside of Nanfang Flower Wholesale Trade Center).

But you can find casual flower markets are everywhere on the road these days.

Open Time:
● The flower markets in Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, Huangpu, Baiyun districts open for three days, from 8:30 a.m. on February 4 to 2:00 a.m. on February 7. The flower markets will end at 12:00 p.m. on February 4 and 5, and extend to 2:00 a.m. on February 7.
● The flower markets in Luogang District open for 5 days, from 8:30 a.m. on February 2 to 2:00 a.m. on February 7.
● The flower markets in Panyu District open for 7 days, from 8:30 a.m. on January 31 to 2:00 a.m. on February 7.
● And the flower markets in Huadu District open for 10 days, from 8:30 a.m. on January 28 to 2:00 a.m. on February 7.
